This month my inspiration came from a new direction . . . I'd been out on a walk some weeks ago, and saw this tree, and decided I needed to come back and photograph it, capturing in images, what had captivated me ....
The tree is in an area of a local grove of Sycamore trees, some of which were burned in a fire ...
I heard the noise while walking and looked over more closely at the tree and saw HOLES, everywhere holes in the tree! Then I saw the noisy WOODPECKERS!!
I then walked up to the tree and saw how many holes and was amazed.... how long had it taken to create this masterpiece? Of course if it was in my backyard and I'd have had to listen to all the work it would've made me nuts! Then I noticed some of the holes were filled with nuts, lots and lots of nuts!
This next image is one of the nuts I pulled it from a hole. It took me a good 5 minutes to get it out, it was in there so tightly! Squirrels .... so the woodpeckers make all the holes, and then more holes, and the squirrels fill them. While I'm not quite sure if this is team work, I'm amazed at the work involved. I was INSPIRED. . .
I'm excited for everyone to share in our circle of creativity, here is the next link for my friend Lester, take a look and follow the links: http://lestersphoto.blogspot.com/2012/02/spring.html

It's like a character study of a tree! Great idea. Love the image with the holes!
ReplyDeleteAwesome Linda! I think the image of the seed is my favorite. That shadow just rocks and the gradient of tones is lovely. I love the new direction!
